Digital cameras are improving rapidly. It's easier than ever to take a photo properly exposed, properly focused. However, most photos of people just look like snapshots. They are far from the beautiful pictures you see in magazines. I am a professional photographer based in London and would like share with you 3 simple and easy ways to instantly improve your photography, even if you're a beginner.
1. COMPOSITION OF ITS IMPROVEMENT.
Most people's instincts to take a picture is to place the most important thing in the center of the image. When photographing a person's head the person is the main object of interest so that the place right in the center. This is the sign of an amateur. What that means is you get tons of empty space / Sky in the upper half of the picture, and the person is crushed in the bottom half. If the photo is framed in landscape (which means you're holding the camera normally and the image is wider than high), then this effect is even worse because there is much empty space to the left and right of the person you are photographing.
Instead, try to search the entire area of the photograph and fill as much of it with the person as possible. The tilt of the camera on your side to the image is vertical (taller than wide), and that naturally follows the form of a better person. Enlarge or reduce the camera to the top of his head is almost on top of the image. Immediately the photo will look more professional. Practice a couple of times and never take a shot of fans in search of new!
2. IMPROVEMENT OF LIGHTING.
Chambers needs a certain amount of light to take a picture, and when there is insufficient light, takes longer to take a picture because the camera has to wait longer to let more light. The longer it takes, the more the risk that the photo is a bit fuzzy, because the hand holding the camera unstable makes small movements affecting the picture. To compensate, most digital cameras come with flash, modes and more "automatic", the camera will automatically detect if there is low light and flash pop-up, if necessary. So when you are outside in the sunshine, never turns off the flash because there is plenty of natural light. When inside, the camera flashes, and it detects and compensates for low light with a flash.
However, the flash of a camera is terribly unfavorable. This is because the light coming from the direction of the camera. As a result, 'squashes' what you're recording, eliminating shadows and eliminating any sense of depth in the face of the person. When the light comes from the side, or above, tends to look much more flattering, you have the pleasant feeling of 3D depth. Yes, we use flash in studio photography, but from flattering angles, is not the same angle camera looking for.
So tip # 2 is to turn the flash on your camera. This is possible in most digital cameras. So look at the camera menu, read the manual if necessary, but finding a way to disable the flash.
