Studio Lighting Hire
Zebra collection, Scam or no Scam?

I know there are other questions on here asking this very same question. But, I was scouted in leicester square last week and they have been calling every day trying to get more info and have arranged a photoshoot for tomorrow (which at short notice I cant attend) at the Lightrooms studios in London, which I’ve read is a studio for hire.

Im very sceptical on anything thats “free”. I understand that I will have to buy copyright on the photos, does anyone know how much this costs? They said the cost of the shoot is £244 which they pay for completely, but if the photos are over £500 to copyright say, they make double there money back?… Scam?

Anyone had the experience recently and can shed some light on this, would be appreciated :)

Thanks

Hey,

I was ‘scouted’ by the zebra collection a couple of weeks back. I got call last week from a lovely sounding lady who was trying to get me to pay an immediate £100 deposit (to pay copyright costs) and work off the rest of the cost through the work I was going to get through the agency- she said I could do this after putting me on hold to talk to ‘her manager’. Sorry luvvie, but this looks like a whole load of BS to me. And the people who answer questions about the zebra collection on yahoo answers/forums etc, I would urge you to look at their profiles and match up the answers. They are all being posted by people from the agency giving positive recommendations (I’ve seen the ‘Richard and Judy’ example a few times all under different names)- its a SCAM. Con artists like to cover their tracks, so I’m begging you don’t listen to anyone on here who starts talking about the zebra collection being a great way into the industry. True scouts are neither desperate nor require you to pay for photos, trust me. Don’t pay them a penny, and be happy in the fact that you’re not only pretty but clever too!
