To have soft, indirect ligthing for portraits should I use a north/sout/west/east facing window ?
My husband just bought a house (he’s in Texas while I am back here in Canada for our daughter to be part of a drug trial for her condition) I am in college for photography right now, and he wants to give me a room for a studio and he will give his son a room and create an office etc., but since I am not there I don’t know which room to chose, as I have no idea what the sunlight is like in Texas, does indirect light come through North facing windows, or South facing windows in Texas ? I read somewhere that in the north (where i am) that north facing windows are best, but in the south, that south facing windows are best. HELP ! 
I think in the northern hemisphere (both Canada and Texas) is from the north.
