Re-doing my room to a fashion designer’s studio theme??? Need help thanks.?

I am re-doing my room.
Its going to be Paris/Artsy/Fashion Design themed.
These are my ideas in my head:
-antique vanity
-dress forms
-accent pillows
-and I am thinking there is going to be black and purple accents all around the room to make it look more Paris.

Right now I am trying to decide what my walls should look like.
I am having one wall as a collage (I have saved magazine cutouts/pictures/fun things like that.)
The second wall I want to be a panting—my friends and I wanted it to be the splattered look.
And I am not sure what the third and fourth wall should be.
Keep in mind that I do not want my bedroom to look to ‘busy’.
I am thinking more solids/metallics for the 3rd and 4th but not sure what color. Would a light coffee look good? I just dont know!
Any ideas about what should be in my room, wall colors, sources I should look at, or websites that have stuf with the Paris/Artsy/Fashion Designer look would be very very very helpful.

Okay. I like the basics of your idea. Let’s try and work it out. And I’m keeping in mind that you don’t want the room to look busy (which I promise it will if you opt for the “splattered” look on one wall, especially if you’re planning on a collage wall. I like the collage wall idea better than the “splattered” idea, so I’m keeping that one… I imagine you’ve been saving for awhile to be able to collage a wall so that’s a keeper!

Keep in mind that for any room to have perfect color harmony, you should use 3 colors: 1 dominant color – usually the walls; 1 medium color – usually the trim and one accent color – usually decor objects: cushions, bedding, etc. By the way, black and white are NOT considered colors when decorating. White is actually considered the absence of all color – which is why it matches any color under the sun. And black is the mixture of all colors, which is also why it matches any color under the sun.

You don’t always have to have white in a room, but you do have to have black in every room for perfect color balance. Black grounds all of your colors together and makes everything fit. It can be lots of black or just a bit, as long as there is something black in your room.

So here’s what I’m visualizing:

Never mind the antique vanity. Opt instead for a mirrored one… look at this one:

Paint the trim (baseboards, window trim, etc.) metallic silver instead of white. Paint your dress forms silver too.

Opt for purple in your bedding. A really rich and regal purple sort of like this:

Add silver and black throw pillows.

Start a collection of Eiffel Towers in all shapes and sizes, but make them all silver.

Make your accent wall the collage wall. That will pop up amazing! And in there, you’ll find your third color because no matter that they’re all different images, once you’ve got them up on the wall, one color in them will be dominant. So, you’ll have your three colors, with the silver and the purple.

On your windows, opt for airy white sheers. Use blinds behind them that you can roll down when you want privacy, but keep the airy feeling in the room.

Oh… don’t forget to throw down a really funky throw rug. Consider a zebra print, which would also pull the room together.

And don’t forget to seal your collage, if you don’t want it to yellow. I suggest a clear water-based interior sealer.

And one last funky item: on one of your dress forms, wrap an ostrich feather boa… I’d go with a black or white.
