Studio Lighting Blog

ISH Another early start, and at least one Sunday – seems it was an out of Mary Poppins in Manchester last night so not many people have – not know if that Why are they called me, but never mind while I was working and earning. This does not mean you have the Director of Production, nice guy, but a meeting in / Adjustment is mainly due to the lifting and carrying. There was a young woman to join us after lunch and the same thing, pretty enjoyable, but could not lift anything and he was put on other people to carry when it was his turn.

Very, very large group to travel to the representative of the small theaters, or even # 2 theaters. The lighting device is absolutely massive, you had to download a couple of cots otherwise would have ran out of pesos. This meant tie two together and handling bars of a truss network, AAS one 6'3 "man is the best place to be.

Do you have a blood blister unpleasant as the cradle of a weight dropped on my hand, my fault as I should have gone out of his way, still not as bad as the Production Manager of the company split very bad head on a piece of metal – sadly these things happen when there is very little space and are quick to finish.

If my last day in place of the street, end of filming on Friday, but for the rest of the week is the baseline study so not much for me. The problem is that today as it was within a small dis-used betting office was out all day by 7.15 am until 8.00pm. We have all the time possible conditions, apart from the sun. As the picture shows the idea of working in television is much more exciting than the reality – the reality is that there are a lot of unemployed with very little going on that you can participate in.

We look forward to working with all them in the future, we'll see.

Northwest Vision and Media are looking for my second week of placement but it is a work driven therefore may have to wait a bit.

The next time you submit the blog of my friends – which is in the musical Mama Mia, who is touring the world – until then.

About the Author:

I am currently a Theatre Stage Manager /Company Manager/Tour Manager with ambitions to move into television and am making contacts in that world with the hope of becoming a Locations Assistant and ultimately a Locations Manager. I have just got my first placement through Northwest Vision & Media as a Locations Assistant working on a drama called The Street for the next 2 weeks.

I am the Chairman of Saddleworth Round Table, we raise in excess of £20000 for Charity through one of our events called The Beerwalk. This event is held in and around the villages of Saddleworth. If you have never taken part in this then you are really missing out on what is one of the major events of the summer – go on on take a look.

I live with my wonderful partner Adele (who also works in theatre/ television as a Costume Supervisor), who by the way is as mad as cheese. She also runs an Entertainment Agency and has recently provided all the entertainment for Oldham Council’s Christmas programme 2008/9.

We have two dogs Emma and her puppy Teddy (she had 7 last year) and now one cat – Banana- I know!! as sadly our other cat Daisy recently has to be put to sleep (cancer of the kidneys).

We are also blessed with being the God parents of two wonderful children Sam & Annie, the offspring of two of our very closest friends.
