I'm not familiar with types of lights to use or the places you want to buy from but I can answer some of your questions. I have several lights (100w-1500w) to use depending on what I'm doing and does not need a great place if you are just shooting portraits and full body photos. I have a collection that only 100w and they are very good for me to shoot this kind of work at. I use mild cases in these and other lights that use large umbrellas. If this is the case, then you want to work with muslin funds (better than paper and more lasting) that are large enough for you to make up full-length (10-16 feet long x 8-12 feet wide). I would suggest a gray one to begin with, since it is neutral and coincide with the majority of peoples clothing. There are two basic lighting sites: http://www.photo-seminars.com/Portraiture/lesson1.htm http://www.studiolighting.net/portrait-lighting-styles/ Hope this helps, Kevin
