Studio Equipment Reviews

Dell is going big on customization to 15.4? screen multimedia laptop Studio 15, with five colors and 11 artistic designs available to choose from. The Studio 15 can be equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo and dedicated ATI graphics. It comes with a slot-loading DVD drive, backlit keyboard, sleek drop-hinge design, widescreen glossy display and touch sensitive buttons. Software wise the Dell Studio 15 includes a unique Apple Mac OS X launch dock.
Analyze markets Dell destination in changing the brand names of the house requires a bit of tea leaf reading, although it has been easier in the afternoon, with the company extraction for its consumer brands to just the Inspiron and XPS lines. Now the company is adding a new line between the budget Inspiron and high-end XPS. The new Studio line, as personified by the $ 1,250 15-inch Studio 15, has the same conical shape, slot-loading optical drive, and rounded hinge as title = "Dell XPS M1530 battery"> Dell XPS M1530, but a similar setup study costs about $ 300 less than a similarly outfitted XPS.
The compensation is primarily in the size and finish. Although it looks similar, the Studio laptop is 25 percent thicker and slightly heavier than its highest level XPS cousin, with plastic accents instead of metal. We would like be tempted to throw in the extra $ 300 for the rest of polished metal of the wrist and slimmer design of the XPS, but the Studio line offer customization options (lots of colors and graphic prints) beyond what is available to other laptops from Dell, along with a slot-load drive Optical and credit card remote media style for about $ 200 more than Inspiron similarly configured 1525 (not including discrete graphics, which are not available in 1525).

Although clearly inspired by the popular XPS M1530, the Studio 15 has a more angular, with large side hinges curving the screen down at a sharp angle, the XPS has a more rounded appearance. At 6 pounds, is a bit heavy to tote around every day, but still at the bottom end of the 15-inch scale, around 6 pounds. Our early review unit had a matte midnight blue lid, but there are a variety of color options. We have also seen some photos online filtering of several artistic designs motifs that should be available in future previously been covered in Crave.
Overall, the Studio 15 has a good set of connectivity options. On the left edge and find HDMI VGA out, Gigabit Ethernet, USB, USB port Combo / eSATA port, 4-pin FireWire, microphone and two headphone jacks. Turn the other side and see a power connector, a Additional USB port, memory card reader (SD, MMC, Memory Stick), ExpressCard 34 and a slot for the internal DVD burner. If you are looking for the power switch, you will find that is located in the center of the screen depend on the right hand.
