What is the role of a film studio?
What does a film studio, such as universal, do for a movie? Do they finance it, provide equipment, write it, provide crew etc?
What the guy said before me is pretty much right. Every so often though there is a franchise of movies so good that the studio will actually pay people to make the movie. So it’s not so much the people make the movie and then sell it to them, but sometimes the company comissions people to make a certain movie
