Studio lighting questions????????
I’ve decided to set up small studio in my home (I barely get to use the studio in my school cause I’m only part time!) and dying to get more practice. I have so many questions but will continue to do my research and talk to my instructors.
As for now, does anyone use Novatran lights? I’ve read a lot about Alien Bees but also saw someone suggest Novatran. I saw a good deal with 3 lights, stands, umbrella’s, power pack all in a case. Seems enough to get me started? (maybe get a backdrop). I think it was 400V (if that makes sense). I’m using a Nikon D90.
And are all you’re lights suppose to be strobes? Or do you mix it up with continuous lights too? (I think the hot light is continuous?).
flash is far cleaner than constant lights, constants are good for learners yes, i never use them i use flash
novatran are ok from what i hear i havent used them,
myself i use one light and reflectors for 90% of my work, so i would be grabing two lights (the second for backlighting) and one reflector is fine for fill
