What is a good (free w/o trial) screen recording software?

i don’t know a whole lot about this seeing as i didn’t even know what to look for until just last night, but i’m trying to put together a training video and I would like to use images from my desktop w/o using a camera pointed at it. So far, the only one i’ve been able to use was CamStudio but the problem with that was that when i tried to set in the options that i wanted to record audio from the speakers of my computer, I got a message saying that the “WaveOutGetSelectControl() failed” and i’m not sure if that’s the program or something wrong with my speakers. What i’m asking is if anyone knows any other free downloadable screen recording software that I can use and still record my speaker audio w/o error or if you are familiar with CamStudio if you can give me any helpful feedback, i greatly appreciate it

Well, if you want to record the screen activity with sound from computer or speakers, you may also try DemoCreator or Camtasia. Software like this can detect the recording device of your computer, and you can select the right recording input. Here are 3 input resources to choose: Microphone, Rear Input, and Stereo Mix. And Stereo Mix is for recording the playing audio from the computer or speakers.
